Everyone Deserves a Second Chance

What’s up mga Keneme! Welcome to my blog and this is my blog number 5. Yesterday, I have watched videos about criminal liabilities and I found out that this is a serious topic that is happening nowadays. I have watched music video, news and documentaries about criminal liabilities. But first, what do criminal liabilities mean? Criminal liabilities mean “a responsibility for any illegal behaviour that causes harm or damage to someone or something” from Cambridge English Dictionary.

The documentaries talk about the lowering minimum age of criminal liabilities. It said that when a child at the age of 9 years old commits a crime, it will be able go to jail. From 18, lowered to 9 years old. This bill was suggested because many of them continue commit crimes even they have been warned.

The news tackle about the problems, consequences, and benefits of that lowering minimum age of criminal liabilities. Most of the psychologists, don’t see this bill as a solution. They sat that a child is not that matured enough even it commits crimes because based from their studies, the brain of a child is undergoing in a brain development where it does not know what is the right or wrong. They commit crimes out of their judgement.

And the music video tells about giving a chance to those children who committed crimes. The message of that music video is to give another opportunity to those kids to change their lives to be more worthy. Giving second chance is a great gift for them to change their life to become a better.

This is my reaction to this topic:

A Heart Breaking Topic

Nowadays, because of poverty, many children commit crimes to ease their needs like food and money. They don’t have a choice but to survive even it is in a bad way. Some of them was forced to do crimes like stealing someone’s staffs for the exchange of foods. And some of them was influenced by their environment.

This videos was related to my experiences. I was experienced a crime. A young boy was walked closely to me and immediately snatched my phone. I was shocked and I wasn’t able to think what should I do. I don’t know if I run after him or I go to police station. I did not expect that a young boy can commit that kind of crime.

Umaygad!

I learned a lot from these videos. I have learned that they have reasons why they commit crimes. I have also learned that those children deserve second chance to make their life change. We have to give them opportunities to make their status better because Dr. Jose Rizal said “Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan.” They are the one who will create our better future.

Its a yes yes for me to recommend these videos to others because these will inform us what are the true happenings in our society. I will use my voice to spread awareness about this pitiful children. I will use my strength to help these children to stop doing bad things to ease their needs. And I will use my heart to spread and share love to those hopeless children.
